There are many different sleep aids out there, and there are some who have experienced various problems with insomnia and other sleep issues. Clinical studies have found that whether you suffer from too much sleep or too little, your life expectancy actually goes down! There are a few select families around the world who happen to suffer from a genetic disorder. They stop sleeping at about the age of 40. Sleep aids don’t help, tea doesn’t help, lifestyle changes don’t help. Over time, with no sleep, they become non functional, and within a few years at best, they die of a lack of sleep as the body is not able to rejuvenate itself.
In this case, obviously there are no known sleep aids that can help you to achieve results. But chances are, you are not part of one of these families. With sleep aids and life expectancy, it could be argued either way. On one hand, a lack of sleep leads directly to the breakdown of the body and certain medical conditions. Therefore, if you can get sleep again, these sleep aids will help you to extend your natural life expectancy.
On the other hand, there are many experts who will say that oftentimes, insomnia is just a symptom of a potentially serious underlying condition. In this case, clearly you will have a number of serious problems. But unfortunately, sleep aids will not cure these problems. They may keep the lack of sleep from aggravating the greater issues. But unfortunately, in those cases, sleep aids will not extend life expectancy. But either way, no matter what the issue may be, you should of course check with your doctor. Once you know what the problem is, natural sleep aids can be the best for the immediate issue. But you may require other treatments as well.
